The Circuit Division prosecutes the most serious crimes committed in our community. These crimes include major felony cases, such as murder, robbery, child abuse, sex offenses, and drug distribution. Cases also come to the Circuit Court from the District Court when a defendant requests a trial by jury or when a case has been appealed.

The District Court Division prosecutes primarily misdemeanor offenses such as assault, theft, traffic violations including DUI, domestic violence and drug possession.
The Ocean City District Court is located at:

Ocean City, MD 21842
The District Court hears landlord/tenant cases, replevin actions, traffic violations, criminal cases classified as misdemeanors and certain felonies, and civil cases in the amount of $30,000 or less. The District Court does not conduct jury trials.

When a person under the age of eighteen is charged with a crime, the case is handled by the Juvenile Delinquency Unit. The Office files petitions against juveniles who commit delinquent acts. Delinquent acts are acts that would constitute crimes if they had been committed by adults. Juvenile cases are heard in the Circuit Court sitting as Juvenile Court.
