The mission of the Office of the State’s Attorney for Worcester County is to protect the innocent and punish the guilty while demonstrating the highest levels of ethics, fairness and professionalism.  Our commitment is to hold offenders accountable for their crimes, uphold victims’ rights, and keep the community safe and informed. The Office is responsible for the prosecution of all criminal, juvenile and traffic matters for offenses committed within Worcester County. Prosecutions take place in two district court locations and in the Worcester County Circuit Court in Snow Hill, Maryland.

The Office employs a variety of experienced professionals including attorneys, investigators, coordinators of victim services, digital forensic examiners and legal assistants. These dedicated employees work tirelessly alongside law enforcement in Worcester County to ensure the successful prosecution of criminal offenders and to provide ongoing support for victims and families impacted by criminal behavior.

Circuit Court Division

The Circuit Division prosecutes the most serious crimes committed in our community.

District Court Division

The District Court Division prosecutes primarily misdemeanor offenses such as assault, theft, traffic violations including DUI, domestic violence and drug possession.

When a person under the age of eighteen is charged with a crime, the case is handled by the Juvenile Delinquency Unit.
